New Goodies : Paintchip Napkins!

 Introducing my new Paintchip Napkins!
I started my paintchip table linen series with placemats then followed them up with table runners. After many many requests, here for a limited time only, are some hot extra large cotton napkins for the upcoming BBQ season!

Available in 6 bright colours for the summer season
pssst... they're huge... like so large you could wear them as a bandana!
A fun way to present them is to fold them up so only one colour is showing. Then when your guests sit down and open up the napkin to place on their lap, they get a burst of colour surprise! Great conversation pieces!

Etsy Finds : Violet May

There's so much fantastic art on Etsy. I can just get lost looking at all great works and totally lose track of time. I spotted Violet May last week and knew right away that i was in love with her vintage inspired pieces. The retro imagery and the soft and sweet colour palette of her artwork just makes all your troubles melt away. They bring about cozy nostalgic feelings and a sense of peaceful "Hmmmm and Ahhhh" moments.

Yummy Sprinkles!

I love that I'm not the only one with Sprinkle Donuts on the brain. I designed my Yummy Sprinkles Donute Tote earlier this Spring as a way of indulging in this dangerously delicious treat, but not gaining any calories.

Now... I discover this amazing font called Glaze that you can find on Handmadefont.com. Every character is made out of a decadent Sprinkles Donut!

If only this font existed when I was in Junior High. I would have totally used it for my Science Fair project display. Whether the experiment was on donuts or not.

Start Saving my Pennies!

Oh my! Oh my! Oh my! This is absolutely my new favourite bag to just gush over. Just look how luxurious it is. I would not only love to carry my entire life around with me in this bag, but then at the end of the day I would love to rest my sleepy head on it and have it whisper to me "Sweet Dreams my precious Avril". I am just in forever love with this purse.

Made by designer Ilemi in Paris. Her entire collection will make you melt!

Mix and Match!

I have this vision for the future on my dishware. I mean right now it's pretty minimal and white and yes... ikea. But i have this picture of the most perfect version of my future place settings.

It all started when i saw the movie "Rachel Getting Married". There's this scene in the kitchen which is pretty intense. Now don't watch it for the acting... just look for their plates. The family in this movie had amazing eclectic taste and really knew how to mix and match in the right way. Their dishes were all different. Not one of them matched the other. This blew my mind...

Of course... Why pick only one kind of plate for your kitchen. There are so many pretty designs to choose from so why only pick one!

So 2010 is all about a new mission. Start to build my cutesy-wootsey, mix-and-match, vintage-meets-contemporary dishware! Frank treated me to these amazing "paint by number" inspired plates from Anthropologie last christmas. I think I'll be driving out to some fun antique stores this weekend to add some new pieces to the collection! I'm feeling excitement of the scouring... the collecting... the adventure in dishware!

Shark Attack!

Today I decided to watch Paranormal Activity while ironing away and making some hankies for an upcoming show. Now, there's No Way I would have every watched it in the normal movie watching surroundings... late at night... lights off... quite house... Forget it... I've totally accepted my fears and watching spooky demon flicks that make people cry is just going to work toooo well on me. I won't sleep for the next year... So anyways... yeah... with all the buzz i still couldn't resist. So i waited for a beautiful sunny day and I had lots to do so that i couldn't put all my attention into it... it was great.

So my top 5 fears. Where or not i can ever avoid them... Here they are:
1) SHARKS! Even in swimming pools... sharks hide in the deep end.
2) Scary Demon Movies (unless they are amazingly funny like the Italian Classic... Demons)
3) Low Heights... Standing on a ladder on the third rung is killer!
4) Mice.... my my kitty Nico has been earning his keep by taking care of those.
5) Wearing a skirt on a windy day and it flying over my head (just happened last saturday)

In dedication of my number one fear I don't these very cool... not so scary... limited edition... Shark Nesting Eggs by artist Hally McGehean.

Etsy Finds: Salty and Sweet Mobiles

I've been admiring these sleek silhouette mobiles for some time now by Etsy seller Salty and Sweet. She finds such great subject matter for her modern mobiles like mid-century chairs, zombies, kitty cats, and hooligans (with molotov cocktail piece included!), that my inner child is just whining and begging for one to hang in my studio!

Etsy Find - Note Book Pouches

I just spotted these notepaper inspired Note Book Pouches by squirrellicious on Etsy this morning. It's such a great gift idea for a student or teacher.

The best part is that you can customize your pouch by adding text! I'm thinking of all those notes that I used to pass through class.

Do you want to hang after class?
