Handmade Pasta

Have you ever made your own Pasta?

If I was stuck on a deserted island with only one food to eat for the rest of my life it would be homemade pasta. Funny how I'm currently not living on a deserted island, but still pasta makes up the lion's share of my diet. Mmmm, but my Pasta Sauce is so good!

That's me wheeling out the pasta and singing That's Amore!

Tried and true way to dry your freshly made pasta.

Here's a How To video! This one is very informative!

Etsy Find - Note Book Pouches

I just spotted these notepaper inspired Note Book Pouches by squirrellicious on Etsy this morning. It's such a great gift idea for a student or teacher.

The best part is that you can customize your pouch by adding text! I'm thinking of all those notes that I used to pass through class.

Do you want to hang after class?

Right smack in the middle of summer and i'm starting to get the too-hot-to-do-anything crazies! These Zen Blocks seem like they would be alot of fun without having to exert any high-impact energy... i mean, filling a bucket with sand and making a castle... no thanks! Bring on the meditative pleasure of stacking Zen Blocks!

Etsy Aprons!

I chose aprons as a theme for this shout out to fabulous Etsy sellers as a tribute to finally using my favourite apron! A friend had made it for me last Christmas and I just never wanted to get anything on it. So it stayed folded neatly in a kitchen drawer for over a year just waiting to get splashed with spaghetti sauce or wine stains!

So last weekend as I was getting ready to silkscreen, I didn't really feel like wearing the same old grubby button down shirt that I usually wear to get my art on. I wanted to do some printing in style! I pulled it out of the drawer and put it on! Sure I had a hard time wiping my inky hands on it at first. But now it has a new home hanging in my studio!

The picture above shows the wide spectrum of aprons that you can find on Etsy. From girly and frilly to bold and modern, to graphic and illustrative to subtle and minimal, there's an apron out there for everyone!

From top left clockwise:
cberrybaby – Ginger Tile Reversible Crayon Apron
reyaveltman – Ekster Apron – Handprinted from Magpie Linocut
prettyditty – Feathered – Full Lola Apron
snappyshop – Bacon and Eggs Pocket
zellig– Gray and orange apron
